As Weight Stigma Awareness Week 2024 comes to an official close, I want to acknowledge that weight stigma awareness needs and deserves our ongoing vigilance and advocacy especially as allies and medical providers. In service of this, I am excited to present with Dr. Sarah-Ashley Robbins from the Gaudiani Clinic on how the medical system's hyperfocus on weight causes harm on 10/10/24. Dr. Robbins will be reviewing the research that shows how a weight-centric model doesn't serve people well, and I will be presenting from my lived experience as a clinician and advocate.
